Is there a way to set different assignee rules for different issue types

For Nextgen projects, I see how to setup auto-assigning to people based off swim lanes (status changes), but it looks like it is limited to setting all issue types to one user. I'd like to be able to make it so issues moved to the Review status automatically change the assignee based off the ticket type. So Stories and Tasks moved to Ready for Review go to one person, and Bugs moved to Ready for Review go to different person. Any way to do that?

Hi Mike,

Sure, you can do that using Automation For Jira. Let me know if you need help with that.

That'd be awesome! I did some peeking into that section already but found it to be a bit confusing. You are talking about Project Setting > Apps > Project Automation, yea?

Just played with it a little more. Figured it out. You got me on the right path tho. Thanks very much. If anyone else needs help here is how to do it.

  1. Click Project Settings from the side drawer.
  2. Click Apps.
  3. Click Project Automation.
  4. Click Create Rule.
  5. Set to Issue Triggers, then click Issue Transitioned.
  6. Leave From status blank, so that it applies to issues in any status.
  7. Set the To Status to your column/status name (in my case it is Ready For QA).
  8. Click Save.
  9. Click Add Component, under the Rule details section.
  10. Click New Condition.
  11. Click Issue Fields Condition.
  12. Set Field to Issue Type.
  13. Set Condition to Equals.
  14. Set Value to Bug, then click Save.
  15. Click New Action.
  16. Click Assign Issue.
  17. Set Assign the issue to Specify User.
  18. Set Select a user to the person you'd like it assigned to when it's transitioned.
  19. Click Save.
  20. Set a name and click Turn On.
