Hello,

We want to merge multiple projects with each having different issues. Currently, the project set up is divided per client and per client, it is divided into different projects. For example,
ExampleClient - Feature 1
ExampleClient - Feature 2
ExampleClient - Feature 3

We want to consolidate these projects into one ExampleClient SUPER which includes all of the content from these 3 projects. Is there a way to do this?

Yes, in Jira you can merge multiple projects into one by bulk-moving issues from Feature 1, Feature 2, and Feature 3 into the new ExampleClient SUPER project. Use the Bulk Change option in the issue navigator. Before that, make sure the target project has all necessary Issuetypes, workflows, screens, and custom fields configured to match the source projects. Test with a small batch first to avoid surprises.

Hello @Brenz Hababag

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

First, what types of projects are these? Get that information from the Type column on the View All Projects page under the Projects menu. That is a critical piece of information to have to answer your question.

Second, what is the actual problem you are trying to solve with the consolidation? Do you need to generate a report that has data from all the projects? Do you need to have a Kanban or Scrum board where you can view the data from all the projects in one view?

Jira Projects are "containers" for issues/work items. An issue/work item can exist in only one project at a time. An issue can be Moved from one project to another, but there is risk of data loss depending on the type of the source and destination projects. Moving the issues from separate Jira Project into one Jira Project would be one definition of "merging".

However, if you just need to generate reports/views of the information across all three projects that does not necessarily require that all the issues be in one Jira Project.

So, when we know the root problem you are actually trying to solve, and the types of the projects, we'll be able to provide you with relevant suggestions.

Hello,

The projects are of type "Team-managed software" but some are also "Company-managed software". The reason why we need the consolidation is for reporting using PowerBI so that all of these projects can be consolidated into a single project to avoid user confusion.
