Hello,
We are using Jira for a while now for software project management.
Lately we noticed that the team respond to e-mails quicker and more efficiently than Jira notifications. However; if we use e-mail for project management it gets more and more complicated to follow.
We are looking for a way that;
1) we create a ticket in Jira - sending a notification in e-mail
2) we continue conversation in e-mail
3) each e-mail replied is logged in Jira under same ticket as comments with the same sender name.
Is this possible with an integration in Jira?
Thanks,
Cengiz
First, I strongly advise you to get the users to change the old way of doing things and convert to JIRA. The issue with email is the replies/comments WILL stop making sense. Person A responds to an email, Person B replies, then Person C replies to A's email without seeing B's email that may invalidate C's reply. If you're capturing them in JIRA the line of thought won't make sense at times.
When people work in JIRA that shouldn't happen. It is often hard to get people to change from old habits, but it doesn't mean they are good habits.
If you HAVE to do it look at https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/creating-issues-and-comments-from-email-779288896.html
Hello Joe,
Thanks for your reply. I also believe you are right using only jira also, but still in some cases we need to communicate outside jira.
I tried the link you have provided but it doesn't work?
