Is possible to use a epic field to order stories?

I want to order a stories backlog according to a field value from an epic but that field does not have in the stories, although there is an epic link field in the story which can correlate both tasks. Anyone have an idea how can I do it?

No, the search (and hence sort) only looks at the fields on the issues you are looking for, not related one.
