Is it safe to migrate links on a JIRA Cloud site after a test migration?

Is it safe to migrate links on a JIRA Cloud site after a test migration whilst the team are still working in JIRA Server?

It sounds like it should only change the links in JIRA Cloud so the JIRA Server instance will still work correctly but I just want to be sure that's the case.

What is being referenced by the links? Are these links to other issues through the generic issue linking functionality? Are these web links to other materials?
