Is it possible to split a ticket in timeline view?

By split I mean show active time vs. duration (e.g. a ticket will be "in progress" for a month, but actual work will only be done the first and last week of that month), and I don't want to split it into two tickets. Below is a screenshot of the functionality that I'm looking for.

Hi @Ellen.Bohan and welcome to the Community!

Short and simple answer: no, that is not possible. The timeline represents the duration and this is marked with a single combination of 1 start and 1 end date.

The split between duration and actual effort on the other hand does exist. The estimate you enter in the original / remaining estimate fields is a different type of information. By displaying the estimation field in your plan's custom field section, you can view the (remaining) effort while looking at the projected timeline in the roadmap section right next to it.
