Hi community, I am trying to route users to a different screen depending on the answers they give to the custom fields I have when creating an issue.
I was wondering if it is even possible to route users to a different screen, depending on the answers they give on the custom fields that I have provided.
I want to be able to create different subtasks and ask different questions (route them to a different screen) depending on the answers to the custom fields that I have on the main screen when creating an issue. This is why I want to be able to route users to different screens prior to creating an issue.
From my understanding, it seems like I cannot route them to a different screen prior to creating an issue.
However, if this is possible, does anybody have a step-by-step on how to go about this process?
Please let me know if you need me to clear up anything. Thank you all in advance!
Hi @Daniel Lim and welcome to the Community!
No, that is not possible. When you create an issue, you go through the one and only screen that is associated with the create issue operation (in a company managed project - in a team managed project you're even more limited as there's only one screen for create/edit/view).
A more dynamic experience is available in Jira Service Management (JSM), where you can create dynamic forms. They allow you to show/hide fields based on choices made by the users, but JSM is a different Jira product, aimed at service teams rather than software teams.
For more details, see JSM feature overview and extensive JSM forms documentation
Hope this helps!
Hi @Walter Buggenhout , thank you for the welcome and your detailed response! So the workflow automation in the backend only works after the issue has been created, correct?

Hi @Walter Buggenhout , do you recommend any strategies on how to go about a dynamic intake form? I am looking to see if there are any options without the marketplace, but if they're not, then I am open to some marketplace plug-ins that have dynamic intake screens.
