I'm working with a team that communicates primarily through MS Teams chats. There are cases where a team member wants to communicate something to the whole team as it relates to a particular Jira issue. Instead of @mentioning a specific user or groups of users, it would be helpful if they could @mention their team's MS Teams channel.
Hi @Steve_G ,
thank you for your question! My company, yasoon, has developed an app to enable teams to collaborate better via Microsoft 365 and Jira.
As you described your use case, this might be an option for you. The app is available on the Atlassian Marketplace: Microsoft 365 for Jira - Outlook Email, Teams, Calendar | Atlassian Marketplace
If you want to enable your team to communicate via Microsoft Teams in Jira, you can post all relevant issue communication in a dedicated Microsoft Teams channel: Microsoft Teams: Start a conversation in Jira (yasoon.com) – this works just like mentioning a channel, but the relevant users can even communicate directly in Microsoft Teams, while all information is documented in Jira.
There are more apps available that connect Microsoft Teams to Jira, so you can check out this short video about a few available options: Jira, meet Microsoft Teams
Microsoft 365 for Jira is free for up to 10 users and you can start a free trial to see if it is a fit for you. You can reach our support team and book a demo if you need any further information.
Happy Thursday,
Britta
Hi @Steve_G
Good question.
You can do it already in Microsoft Teams - it is a native feature. See a picture below.
By the way, if you want to integrate Microsoft Teams with Jira or Confluence - feel free to give a go Advanced Microsoft Teams Jira Connector or Advanced Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector.
We are here to help.
Cheers,
Leo
