We have several use cases where data is stored in an Excel Spreadsheet (requirement specifications / acceptance criteria etc).
The structure of such data is too large/complicated to be rendered in a table within a rich-text field and just attaching the file means you have to download it to view and risks viewing out of date versions etc.
It would be nice to be able to embed/preview the spreadsheet in the same way an image is (e.g. !myspreasheet.xsl!) and have it's contents displayed (readonly) within the field.
So my question is this possible? Are there any apps/plugins which do similar?
Everything I've seen are much too complicated and seem to involve embedding tabular data with Jira, rather than just displaying it - it doesn't need to be searchable.
Similar functionality exists in confluence with the Office Excel macro.
Welcome to the community @Ian Sugden !
There are a couple of third-party apps which you can use for your scenario:
Please go through them and see which one make sense to you.
Thanks.
I did look at the marketplace before posting, but all I could find were ones for exporting Jira data to Excel - like those you've linked to - or for embedding tabular data within Jira.
All I want to do is preview an excel attachment within a ticket description.

@Ian Sugden Have you checked Table Grid Next Generation it seems that you can import your excel file into Jira.
There are many options for Cloud but for Jira Server/DC I could only find that app.

Thanks again.
That one does look like it might do what we need, but also a bit of overkill.
We might be moving to cloud-based soon, so if there are more useful features available, then that might strengthen that argument.
