Is it possible to directly add stories into a structure like Capabilites or Epics?

I can directly add capabilities and epics into the JIRA structure by clicking “add” in the top left corner and filling out the information. I can’t do this with the story level; I always get an error. Is there a way to directly add stories into the structure?

David from ALM Works here.  Are you using our product, Structure - Flexible Jira Project Management? 

If you are, it would probably be best if you contacted our support team directly via email support@almworks.com or customer portal support.almworks.com.   We will want to review the error message and the structure you are receiving it in.
