When creating a new sprint within backlog, the sprint is automatically created with start and end dates pre-filled. Is it possible to create a sprint without these dates automatically being added in?
It turns out I was able to achieve what I was after.
When you click on "Create Sprint", it will pre-fill the title and dates based on the sprint immediately above it. If you remove the start and end dates from an un-started sprint, and then click "Create Sprint", the newly created sprint will not have any pre-filled dates.
Hi @Fred Clarke
Welcome to the community!
I think you need to select the dates to create the sprint but if you have manage sprints permissions, you can change the start and end date of a sprint through the backlog.
Please, go to the backlog and on the ... click on "Edit sprint", change the dates and click on "Update".
Hope this helps!

Thank you @Sushant Verma - yes that makes sense, although I'm pretty sure there's a setting to disable the automatic addition of start/end dates, I just can't find it.

@Fred Clarke Might be there is an option, I am not aware of.
Hope this document helps you : https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/enable-sprints/
