Is it possible to change the permission of the field Story Points?

Hi

We want to change the permission for the field Story Points, so that only administrators can change the amount of Story Points.

At the moment our developers have the chance to change all fields except assignee and due date. We also want to have the same permission for Story Points.

Is this possible? I couldn't find anything.

Thanks for your help

Nadine

You could remove the Story Point field from the Edit screen. Then you could create a screen with the Story Point field, add a transition with the screen and make this condition only for the users/grups/roles you want.

But couldn't they still change the points without using the edit screen? Just on the normal screen?

If you remove a field from the edit screen, Jira stops the in-line edit as well, as it wouldn't make senses to be able to edit a field if it's not on the edit screen.

Hi Nadine,

there's no such thing as a field level security permission. There was an issue for that, but Atlassian stated, that it will not be implemented:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-1330

There's a commercial app for that, but it is not available for cloud.
