Is it possible that a ticket can only be edited by one person at the same time?

Is it possible that a ticket can only be edited by one person at the same time, so that the mutual over-saving of two users is prevented?

For Example:

1. Person 1: Editing the ticket without Saving
2. Person 2: Also edit and save the ticket.
3. Person 1: Saves the ticket

>>> Result: All changes of Person 2 are deleted.

No, Jira doesn't allow that. The best workaround is to only allow the assignee to edit the issue. That, and some training to never assign a ticket to yourself without checking with the current assignee should avoid the situation.
