Is it possible or not? Separate view but one link only depends of type of user.

How can we possibly separate the access view but one link only to use depending on the type of user?

We have customized our link and it directly goes to the customer portal, This Customer Portal is for Customers/Reporters only as we intend to design it. However, how about those agents/support who tries to access this link also? On which it is also directly going to the Customer Portal instead we possibly make it into Agent's view? Is it possible? Here is the example

Example:

This is the customized link: servierequest.com

Customer/Reporter will intend to access this link and shall go to Customer Portal/Customer View.

Agents/IT Support will intend to access the same link but it will directly be going to the Agent's view.

Is it possible or Not?  Please let us know

Hi Mela,

This might be possible using a reverse-proxy, but that would be a complicated and very custom configuration; there is nothing in the application that would help you do this.

Two things that off the top of my head would complicate this:

  • Cloud doesn't let you do custom domain anything. It's possible to do redirects to their URLs but as far as I know, there's absolutely no way to have "servierequest.com" be your portal URL on Cloud.
  • You would need to be aware of who the user is in any case, however if you have Agents\IT Support who could also be reporters on tickets, you'd need to know their relation to the particular ticket as well. If not, you might be able to simply confirm if they're authenticated to JIRA yet or not.
