Is anyone else having trouble creating an issue type "EPIC"?

We are having trouble in creating issue type "EPIC" as it is throwing a flied validation error with message "Story Points: Story Points is required."

Any help on this question is much appreciated and this is blocking our work.

You need to talk to your administrators.  The project in which you are trying to create the Epic has the "Story points" field set as mandatory in the "Field configuration scheme".

You either need the admins to change the screens so that it is on screen and you can fill it in, or amend the field config so that it becomes optional.
