I am using a trial-period version of JIRA for my own personal projects to see if I want to continue with it in place of my current ad hoc system. Unfortunately my online server has a MariaDB, but my WAMP localhost does have a compatible installation of MySQL. As I am the only one working on these projects, it still makes sense for me to use JIRA basically as a desktop app.
If I am using JIRA in this fashion, can I still connect to my GitHub accounts through OAuth? Before I go too far down the rabbit hole of figuring out how to get this to work vs. just updating manually or through the IDE as a separate/different step, I wanted to see if this is possible in my situation.
You can, but my limited understanding is that you will need to make sure your machine has a consistent host name (meaning you can't use the ip address if it's a laptop that moves between networks, or your internet connection doesn't have a fixed ip address)
