Hi Jira team,
We are considering purchasing Tempo Timesheets for Jira to manage time logging and reporting activities.
However, I couldn’t clearly find in the feature list whether the following capabilities are supported.
I would really appreciate it if you could clarify these points:
Does Tempo support automatic weekly report generation and email delivery to selected users or groups for log time?
For 1 if yes, can we customize the report format (e.g. include specific fields or filters) and export it automatically?
Does the tool include a timer function to track working hours in real time?
Looking forward your response,
Hi @Zahide Kaplan 👋🏻,
If you are considering an alternative application, I would like to suggest WorklogPRO - Timesheets for Jira which can cover most of your requirements.
🌱 With this application, you can create periods for any desired time ranges, such as weekly or monthly, for selected users or groups, and lock these periods. The locking feature allows you to manage worklog entries much more easily — for example, you can enforce rules or prevent worklogs from being entered outside the designated time.
By using these periods, you can report on the worklogs of specific users, and the reports can be fully customized to your needs — for instance, including billable/cost values, user-based filters,project-based views or JQL filters. Additionally, these reports can be exported in formats such as Excel or PDF.
🌱 Regarding your question about timers, WorklogPRO - Timesheets for Jira supports a timer function for real-time tracking. When the timer is stopped, a panel opens allowing you to quickly and easily log your work.
🌱 Additionally, the app allows you to manage timesheet submission and approval processes directly within the system.
I would be happy to provide more detailed information if needed. 🍀
Disclaimer:I work for the vendor who developed this application.
Does Tempo support automatic weekly report generation and email delivery to selected users or groups for log time?
Although Tempo supports automatic emails/reminders (weekly/bi‑weekly) about timesheet status (e.g., missing hours) via its Scheduler feature, it does not currently provide a built‑in function (in the standard Timesheets app) to schedule full report generation (with customised content) and deliver that report automatically via email to selected users/groups.
For 1 if yes, can we customize the report format (e.g. include specific fields or filters) and export it automatically?
While you can export reports manually (CSV, Excel, PDF) and apply filters/custom attributes, there’s no built‑in scheduled export to run and deliver a custom format on a schedule.
Does the tool include a timer function to track working hours in real time?
Yes — Tempo provides a real‑time tracker/stopwatch to record time as you work on an issue (or via browser extension) and convert it into a worklog. So this meets your requirement.
If you consider alternatives, you may check Planyway for Jira. The app currently also doesn't provide automated reporting, but it has multiple options for logging time automatically, plus extensive reporting with multiple groupings for customization and planned vs tracked time report which is really handy.

Thanks for answer.
I also have one more question, I noticed that TEMPO integrates with calendars. I was wondering if it can automatically log time for meetings, or would I still have to log those hours manually? I mean just work meetings, not personal events.
However, regarding of PLANWAY, if this plugin also meet our expectation then I can also offer it to our manager.
Our expectations:
1. Generate same report as Team Report. ( See the log times for a specific period, along with the related tasks for each user. 2. Automatic weekly reports to managers, be a reminder for the team. (for weekly report log time per user or group)
3. Nice to have. Timer to log hours
4. Automatic logging of meeting hours from the calendar.

Tempo Timesheets can integrate your work/calendar meetings so they appear in your “My Work” feed, but you still need to manually confirm/log them — it won’t automatically log time without your action.
As for Planyway:
1. With Planyway for Jira you can see the log times for a specific period, along with the related tasks for each user. Plus, if needed you can also add other filters to your report, so it's fully customizable.

2. Same as Tempo, the app doesn't have a built-in feature like this. However, you can use Jira automation for this, potentially combining it with Planyway for visual feedback. You might set up automation to remind team members to log their time and send out reminders to managers.
3. Absolutely, the time is available.
4. Unfortunately, Planyway doesn't support automatic logging of meeting hours directly from external calendars.
We're open to the discussion and if you'd like to know more about the app and have a demo, please let us know at support@planyway.com.
