Hi team!
I am a Product Manager in Jira Cloud and I have been working with a lot of marketers and business teams to recently to understand their needs in Jira.
One thing which has come up is the need to track and report on the performance of a project, such as through ROI and other key metrics defined when a campaign or project kicks off.
As I explore this space, I would love to chat to some more teams who use Jira today. If you can spare 45 mins to chat please sign up to my research project here. As a token of appreciation, we will send you a USD50 gift card after.
For those who can't make it, I'd love to hear about your use cases and needs in the comments below.
Thanks everyone and I hope to hear from you!
Lisa
Hi,
Happy to share our approach. We typically measure project success in Jira using a combination of delivery, value, and outcome metrics rather than a single KPI. Common ones include:
On-time delivery: Planned vs actual completion (sprint/release)
Scope stability: Changes introduced after kickoff
Quality: Defect leakage, rework, production issues
Throughput & predictability: Velocity trends, cycle/lead time
Business outcomes: Adoption, revenue impact, cost savings, or ROI (tracked outside Jira and linked back)
For marketing or business projects, we often connect Jira work to campaign metrics from external tools (analytics/CRM) and report via dashboards or BI tools.
Happy to discuss further — this is an important area for cross-functional teams 👍
