Hey Ya'll,
I am experiencing quite a bit of trouble getting my kanban boards connected in a way that allows me to view issues from multiple projects on one board. I am hoping there is someone in support community can help me troubleshoot why I have not been able to interconnect my kanban boards in Jira Software.
The main pain I am experiencing is getting an issue visible on multiple boards or a board of issues appearing in multiple projects. For example: Branding boards, User Experience boards, and Campaigns boards issues would also appear in the Master Project Boards swim lanes.
The attached diagram lays out the kanban architecture I wish to create.
I have created the Master Project Board, The Project Boards (created via ‘create new project’ in Jira Software), and the Subproject Boards(created via ‘create new board’).
I have 2 objectives:
Ideally, the Master Project Board would be a Nextgen Software project to take advantage of the ‘roadmapping’ feature. Is this going to be a challenge?
I have reviewed many forum posts from the Atlassian community to try and solve my problems but have been left rather confused by the content or dissatisfied with solutions that require updating cloned/duplicate/linked issues manually in multiple areas.
Hopefully this is enough information to get started and resolve my troubles with scaling my proposed Kanban System.
I look forward to your feedback.
Cheers,
B
I believe I have realized the solution that will work.
Understanding the you can edit the 'Query Filter' field to include multiple project keys is a game changer.
editing the field from:
PROJECT = PROJECT ORDER BY RANK ASC
To:
Project in (Project key A, Project key B, Project key C) ORDER BY RANK ASC
...seems to have created the desired linkages?
Will need to further test.
