Integration with Managed Engine

I am looking for instructions to integrate Managed Engine with JIRA on the Cloud.  This is NOT JIRA Service Manager but standard JIRA.

I find plenty of articles about integration with Service Manager but that is not what I'm looking for

Hello  @Danielle Cantrell,

I'm the Product Marketing Manager of Elements Connect and I think our app is a good fit for you.

It enables you to integrate external data sources into Jira fields. This tool could facilitate the connection between Managed Engine and Jira by pulling relevant data or actions from Managed Engine into Jira issues using data field configurations.

You would set up data sources in Elements Connect to interact with Managed Engine's REST API, creating custom Jira fields that reflect the necessary data from Managed Engine. This approach allows for dynamic updates and interactions between the two systems as required by your workflow

Element Connect has a free trial of 30 days (and stay free under 10 users) so don't hesitate to give it a try !

Hello @Danielle Cantrell

I have not heard of "Managed Engine" before. Google searches come up with multiple results. Can you provide a link to references for that?

Are you perhaps referring to "ManageEngine" as referenced in this document?

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/integrate-with-manageengine/

Have you reached out to the vendor of that product to ask about Jira integration options?

Can you provide more information about your use case for this integration?

It is ManageEngine.  Also, we are not using Service Manager for this project but standard JIRA.

This is for a customer's ManageEngine. We are trying to integrate their MangeEngine system with our JIRA (not service manager)

I set-up the API based on the instructions that Trudy provided and provided to my customer that has ManageEngine.

I'm concerned with the set-up because I see nothing that will limit this call with the specific project for this customer.  Further, the customer in their set-up is asking for a username and Domain.  I don't want to give them my username as I need to make sure they can only have access to their project not all the projects I have access to as a PM and JIRA admin

If you own the Jira instance you can work with the customer to create an Atlassian Cloud account for them, and then you can give that account access to only the projects to which they should have access.

You do not have to give them your personal log in information.

There is likely some minimum level of access that the integration will need. That information should be available in the ManageEngine integration documentation.

I encourage you to reach out to the vendor of ManageEngine and/or Atlassian support for additional assistance.
