I'm wondering the validation method for an inbound request while integrating a system with Jira, user/password or OAuth or both?

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

What are you expecting a "validation method" to do here?   When you make a remote request, Jira will try to execute it, failing if it is not valid, so I'm not sure what you are looking for?
