Hello all,

I have access to Jira and I have been able to review the steps on my projects, however, the time has come for me to submit my first Jira request.  Once I submit the Jira I have to do a dependency subtask as well to get support from another team for the request. I was looking for a tutorial to assist with this, any pointers?

Hi Brynie,

Welcome to the community!

How to indicate dependencies or ask help from other teams is a question best answered from within your organisation. How this is handled may vary between organisations, so it is best to check with someone from your own team.

That said, here is the documentation for creating subtasks and linking issues. These are the default ways of indicating that issues are related.

If you are completely new to Jira it may be worth checking out the free Jira Fundementals course on Atlassian University. (Or Jira Service Management Fundamentals if that is what you are working with).

Hope this helps!
