I have a company managed project. Further, I have set the parallel sprints feature on. However when I am trying to activate a second sprint, the following error is being seen.

We couldn't start this sprint because it belongs to the next-gen project Product Board which already has a sprint in progress. Next-gen projects do not currently support parallel sprints.

That would indicate that the sprint you are trying to start was actually created in a Team Managed project board, not in the Company Managed project board in which you are working.

Jira does not restrict sprint issues to be only from the same board as the one in which the sprint was created. You can add issues to another board's sprint by directly editing the Sprint field of an issue and typing in the name of any sprint in the system. Once the issue is added to that sprint, then that sprint will appear in ANY board where that issue is in scope, even if the sprint was not created in that board.

Jira also does not require unique sprint names across the system. It is possible that you have multiple sprints that have identical names.

I recommend that you create a new sprint in your Company Project board, move your issues to it, and see if this sprint that you can't start then disappears from your Company Managed project board.
