I have a Jira task I'm working on. Currently, my work is stalled, waiting for resources to become available for end-to-end testing. I'd like to show that in the ticket, but I'm not sure how to do that. I could not find a "pending" or "waiting" status that I can set.
Is there a standard approach to this scenario?
Hi Gerald,
You could use the "Flag/Comment" option that comes out of the box. You Don't need to be an admin to flag an issues and add a 'Waiting for XYZ' comment. In our shop if an issue is flagged we always expect to see a comment explaining why.
Otherwise, this is a case where you are going to need to get together with your Jira Admin and put a solution together. You could do anything from adding a status (as suggested above), a field, etc...
Hope this helps
Hello @Gerald Britton
Jira is flexible tool & and you can add desired statuses to workflow definitions and then map those workflows to projects.
Here's the Kb article about it

See above/below, where ever my answer went. It gives you a option that does not require you to be an admin.
Cheers!

Hello,
You can add any status to your workflow, but you must be a Jira administrator.

I'm not an admin. What is available out of the box? Note that the status I need should also "stop the clock" so to speak.

If you are on Cloud, you can create a next-gen project and modify it to your needs.
If you are on Server, then you need to contact your administrator.
