In Issue Layout, fields are added to the "Context Fields", but do not appear (empty or not).

Is there another screen or scheme that overrides a particular screen? Is there something regarding permissions that must be set?

Hello @pavan.vasudev

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Could you please let us know what are the fields that are not appearing in your screen? If it is a custom field, can you provide us with the type?

Also, are you using a Next-gen or Classic project?

These are the default settings that could be hiding the field from your issue screen:

  1. Under Project settings > Issue Layout, doublecheck that you are editing the correct screen scheme related to the issue type you are testing. Usually, Jira Software templates use two different screen schemes for Bugs and other issue types:

  2. At the header of the page, click in the blue button to Create a new issue. Making sure the issue is set with the issue type related to the screen scheme you edited in the issue layout menu, click in Configure fields and confirm if the fields are flagged. Also, use the Where is my field? link to confirm if the fields are added to the screen:

  3. Navigate to Project settings > Fields > Click to edit the field configuration and confirm if the fields are not hidden. If it displays the word "Show", you must click on it to display it again:

  4. If you are using custom fields, navigate to Settings > Issues > Custom fields > find the fields > Click in the ... menu > Contexts and default value. Then, check if the contexts of the fields are not restricting them to specific projects or issue types, excluding the view you were testing before:

Let us know if this information helps.

This is a classic project. Labels, Story Points, and Time Tracking are the fields that do not appear.

On item 4, how do I navigate to the Settings menu. Is it Project Settings?

The "Where is my field" link does not appear for me. What permission enables that?

Item 3 worked for us. However, I did not have the permissions to edit - someone else did it. What permission enables that capability?

Hello @pavan.vasudev

I'm glad to know my instructions have helped you.

Since a field configuration can be applied to multiple projects, it is required the Administer Jira global permission to edit it.
