Hi Guys,

we have JIRA Service Desk running (on ubuntu) and we want to import a valid wild card certificate. But it doesn't work.

I've found some kb articles which describes how to request a new certificate. But we have an existing one and I don't know how to import and configure it.

Is there someone who can explain it step by step?

Many thanks!!

Hi Nic,

many thanks for your answer.

I've got it!

Don't know what exactly was the problem, but this article was the right one:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/running-confluence-over-ssl-or-https-161203.html

Look at Step 3. That was the only thing I've done. I've inserted the path to my existing .pfx file and the password in the server.xml. That's it.

Maybe I've did something wrong during my several trials. I've resetted all what I've tested and did a new start to import the certificate. Works fine!

"It doesn't work" does not tell us anything.  It could be a technical fault on the certificate, or on the server, or an angry penguin grabbed the certificate, ran off, and is now taunting you from the top of a filing cabinet.

Flippancy aside, the KB articles I suspect you have found are generally going to be right, but you can skip all the bits about generating a new certificate and simply start at the point of import.  The ones I am thinking of already are "step by step", so I'm not going to try to repeat them.  Could you tell us what you have been following and where you are stuck?
