Import Cloud from Server 8.0.1 fails on 'entities.xml' is missing

I am trying to import my server 8.0.1 instance to Jira Cloud.

But the import fails on the following error:

Import error

There was an error importing file JIRA-backup-20190221.zip: Validation failed. Following issues were reported:

• The import archive doesn't contain entities.xml file.

The content of the archive DOES contain the entities.xml, however.

The format of the archive is according to the information from https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/importing-issues-776636788.html

As this is an unhelpful error I have no clue what is actually wrong here?

I had this exact error earlier with an export I made from my production server v7.7 instance. Which I could import in the temporarily v8.0.1 as I considered that maybe _some_ inconsistency might exist... but to no avail... sigh...

Note: I can't add an issue report in jira.atlassian.com as it fails on 'User '....' doesn't have the 'Assign Issues' permission'...

C'mon... that is a great way to keep the numbers down...
