Please point me in the right direction.

What I resources do I need to take a look at?

Hi @LindaCloud

I would recommend for learning...

  • Atlassian University: See https://university.atlassian.com/ - there are some great courses you can take to start your learning. I'd start with the free courses to get an idea!
  • Instances: Get an instance of Jira, and any other products you're interested in learning. You can get a free instance to start with, which is good for learning the ropes.

Then, for more scenario-based learning...

  • Community: Look through the Community for questions, and try to find the right answer. I find real-life scenarios are a good way to test your knowledge. You might...
    • Look for answered questions, and don't look at the resolution. Find the resolution yourself and look at the accepted answer, and see if yours matches!
    • Look for unanswered questions, and look for the right response. This might take some research, which you can then share with the asker.
  • Work: Look for opportunities at work to get involved with Atlassian - for example...
    • Internal Community: If your company has a community of practice for tooling, could you join this?
    • Admin Opportunities: Look if there's any openings in your Jira Admin team - could you help with administration? Or help support answer queries for team members (as a Super User)?
    • Training: Does your company offer any Jira training? Could you take it? Could you become a trainer in future and help others?

^ This is how I started originally :)

Hi @LindaCloud

Thanks for your question.

Well, you can start with Atlassian University. For example there's a free Jira course at

Which is part of our free training

You can sign up for a free Jira cloud instance, so you don't have to worry about breaking your production instance with testing.

Once you get comfortable you can then go and read up on specific tasks in the documentation

And then once you become and export, come back here and answer other people's questions!

Regards,
James.
