I would I write a JQL to look for components that are like (SDN111)

Just trying to figure out how to query the stories / cards looking for cards with Component text in it like SDN111

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

The Component field is essentially a multi-select field. Those fields don't support operators that look for the selected values to be similar to a provided string. You can only set criteria to look for the explicit values that can be selected in that field.
