I want to migrate domain from Connect.com to edmo.com.

Hello Team,

We are in the process of migrating our organization’s domain from Connect.com to edmo.com.
Our Jira Software Cloud site is currently hosted at:

https://connect.atlassian.net

We would like to request a site URL change to:

https://edmo.atlassian.net

Details:
- Organization: iSchoolConnect
- New Verified Domain: goedmo.com
- All projects, configurations, and user accounts should remain intact.
- We have already verified the new domain under Atlassian Admin.

Please let us know the prerequisites, expected downtime, and steps we should take before you initiate the URL change.

Thank you,

Hi @Ashish Sabne,  Changing your Jira Cloud site URL is definitely possible, and Atlassian has a straightforward process for it. Here’s what you need to know:

Prerequisites

  • You must be an Organization Admin in Atlassian Admin.
  • Your site must be on Standard, Premium, or Enterprise (Free plans can’t change URLs).
  • The new subdomain (edmo) must be unique and available.
  • You’ve already verified the new domain (goedmo.com) — that’s perfect for user management, but note that domain verification is separate from the site URL change.

Steps to Change the Site URL

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com.
  2. Select your organization.
  3. Navigate to Products → Product URLs.
  4. Click Update URL next to your current site.
  5. Enter the new subdomain (edmo) and confirm.
  6. Review the warning about third-party apps and click Update.

Time to apply: Usually just a few minutes. During this time, users may experience a brief interruption.

What Happens After the Change

  • Automatic Redirect: The old URL (connect.atlassian.net) will redirect to the new one.
  • No reuse of old URL: Once changed, the old subdomain cannot be reused.
  • Impact on Apps: Some third-party apps or integrations may need reconfiguration if they store the old URL.
  • Email Notifications: Links in old notifications will redirect to the new URL.

Downtime & Impact

  • Minimal downtime (a few minutes).
  • Users may need to refresh their sessions.
  • Update API tokens, webhooks, and any external systems referencing the old URL.

Helpful Atlassian Docs:

*be sure to check all integrations to minimize any impact

Hope this helps!
