I have gone through the process and I receive a verification email.
The email simply says:
Hi MY NAME,
We’ve noticed you’ve recently changed the email for your Atlassian account. To confirm the change, please check mynewemailaddress to verify this address and complete updating your account.
If you didn’t request this change, let us know immediately.
The mynewemailaddress is simply a mailto link but no url link to verify
