I'm the top administrator in Jira and I suddenly lost ability to login as a user

I used to be able to login as users in my org.  I now cannot do that anymore.  The button is now missing from the user profile page.

Please help.

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Even for an Organization Administrator the Login as User button may not be available for all users.

Referring to the documentation here:

These limitations exist:

  • log in as a user who has the same role as you, or a higher role. For example, a site admin can’t log in as another site admin or organization admin.

  • log in as a user who hasn’t accessed your site yet.

  • log in as your own account to access an app.

  • log in to Jira Service Management portal-only customer accounts.

 

So, some items that you need to check:

1. What level of admin are you; Organization or Site?

2. What user management experience is applied to your Organization?

3. Do you have the Login As User option for any user at all?

4. If you have the options for some users but not others, do those other users fall within any of the limitations listed above?
