I have received an email "Your organization has been deleted due to inactivity". Not sure what to do.
I am using a Free Plan and have 3 sites in my organization. My 2 Jira sites are very Active. I have 5 users in 1 site and 9 users in 2nd site.
Not sure what should i understand from this email and what am I suppose to do? Being on Free plan, direct support from Atlassian is also not available.
Please guide the next action expected from me.
Thank you in advance.
Hey @dev ,
On most plans, each site is considered it's own organization. You mention you have 3 sites of which 2 are very active. So then I'm guessing the 3rd one not?
Can you still access all 3?
If so, it might have been an old one that you once created and forgot about (hence the inactivity). We'll see if we can get someone from Atlassian to match your email to any sites you might have forgotten about.
We've asked multiple times to include the name of the site in the mail to avoid these things but sadly it's not an option.
Thank you for the prompt response.
After you mentioned, I noticed that the ones I was referring to sites are actually Organizations which is asked when i want to use Atlassian admin for my account.
Yes , i am able to access all the three organizations without any issue though I am actively using only 2 among 3.
Organization ID is received in the email from Atlassian but I am not sure with which of the 3 Organizations it is mapped to.
I am still worried of my data in my active organizations. I hope Atlassian will address my concern ASAP.
To my surprise, I noticed that email has not come to Org admin but to one of the user of this organization who is owner of the domain account.

Hi @dev
In this case, I don't think there is any need to worry here. When an Atlassian Cloud site is deleted, the organization that site was in doesn't automatically get deleted (historically speaking). This has lead to there being a large number of organizations that go unused. In an effort to clean up these unused organizations, Atlassian has started to delete these due to inactivity.
I can see from looking at your domain, that you seem to have had another Atlassian Cloud site with the same URL from 2024 that was deleted more than a year ago. That organization is likely the inactive one that Atlassian has deleted. This can be confusing because by default the organization name matches the name of the site.
This inactivity deletion does not happen to any organizations that have any active products. Hence I don't think there is any need to worry here.
That said, if you would like to restore that inactive organization, please reply here to let me know the organization id, it should be included in the email you received about it being deleted. With that information I can create a support case on your behalf to have the org restored if you prefer.
Thanks
Andy

Thank you for the response Andy. I think I am not sure as of now if we want to restore that organization or not until we get to see what we have in that organization .
