Even though I am an administrator, I cannot:

  • Start a Sprint
  • Close a Sprint
  • Do everything in between

Can anyone help with this conundrum please?

    Thank you ,

Hi @aamal.hurree

according to the documentation:

permissions in all projects returned by the filter are required to start a sprint, even when not all projects are included in a particular sprint or returned board JQL.

What leads me to asking if there are issues from several projects included in your sprint which you might not have permission to.

You can check using JQL the following way:

Sprint = NameofYourSprint

If you are presented with issues from project TEST (TEST-24, TEST-25) and you recognize you have permissions there but also from project TESTTWO (TESTTWO-768, TESTTWO-769) where you do not have permission to manage sprints this will likely be the cause.

In case you haven't the tutorial bookmarked already I will link it here:

Daniel

Hi @aamal.hurree

If you are an administrator, that does not necessarily mean that you have the Manage Sprints permission. It is a specific permission that is granted at project level. As a first step, check in project settings / permissions which roles or groups are assigned that permission. Then in project settings / people make sure you are assigned to a role with the appropriate permission.

Once you have the Manage Sprints permission, you will be able to perform these operations.

Hi Deepanshu, thank you for replying ...

In the Permissions, Sprint settings, I have:

  • Project Role (Project Admin)
  • Project Role (atlassian-addons-project-access)
  • Project Role (Administrators)
  • Project lead

And then in the People Settings, I have:

  • Administrators
  • Project Admin
  • Users

Roles, so it is a bit of a conundrum?

Hi @aamal.hurree ,

Are you a project admin for all the projects in the board? I wonder if you're missing that permission for any of the projects in the board (you can check the filter to see how many projects are included).
