Hi, I created 2 projects. I made it disable too. I tried to delete them, but i could not. From project setting i could not see the option of deleting them. Instead I see archive, and i archived it. for learning sake i was trying. Also i wanted to create backlog, user stories, and task how?

Thanks

Madhav

Since you already archived them, that's the snag - an archived project can't be deleted straight off, you have to restore it first and then send it to trash.

To get it back, go to the gear icon (Settings) top right, then Projects (some sites now show this as Spaces), pick Archive in the left sidebar, find the project and use the ••• (More actions) menu > Restore.

Once it's active again, open Project settings > Details and hit Move to trash - that's the delete option, it's just called "Move to trash", which is probably why you didn't see a plain "Delete". You can also do it from Settings > Projects by finding the project and using ••• > Move to trash.

From there it sits in Trash for 60 days and then gets purged automatically, or you can open Trash (Settings > Projects, then Trash in the sidebar) and permanently delete it right away if you don't want to wait.

You're a site admin so permissions are fine - moving to trash needs Administer Jira or project admin, and site admins can trash both company- and team-managed projects.
