I created a new component. It does not show up on the quick filters.

@Shen, Rona Component doesn't show up in the filters without you actively creating a Quick Filter for it (if I'm understanding you correctly). 

Here's some components setup in my Scrum project for example:

Back in my board, there's no difference in the filters or sign of components:

To make them usable as Quick filters I go into the board configuration and add a quick filter, defined using JQL. Note that this doesn't create a dropdown selector like with the default filters. Quick filters are on/off buttons that apply the JQL you see in this screen to the board:

...and back in my board, the Quick Filter now appears. If I wanted them to all appear as buttons along the top, I click the toggle switch "Show quick filters"

Did you create a regular component? Or a Compass Component? Can you share some screenshots where it is not showing up?
