Ideally there should be a drop down menu with pre-defined components, but it is not happening, for all other columns here it is working well, but only for components it is not.
Hey @Naveen Sundar
In the child issue view panel, only a few fields allow inline editing. I believe the Summary, Assignee, Due Date, Labels can be edited. Components can't be edited in this view.
Thanks!
Hi @Naveen Sundar ,
Welcome to the Community! I just tried on my Jira instance and observed the same behavior for the 'Components' field (and not for others) so I believe that 'Components' is read-only in that view of sub-tasks. As a workaround (if you're looking for one), you can go to the Filters section, pull up the relevant issues, and update the Components field directly from the list view by modifying the columns.

Thanks for answering. But I have created this view to easily manage our sub tasks by choosing things from drop down.
Going into Filter section, will be more time consuming.

Hi @Naveen Sundar ,
Welcome to Atlassian community and thank you for your question.
I suggest to check the configuration of screen for the work type Sub-tasks, specifically the screen associated to Create operation.
You can find that configuration in the project settings - screen schemes
Hope it helps
Regards

Hi @Matteo Vecchiato ,
Thanks for answering.
No, I cannot set that configuration from screen schemes., I cannot choose specifically to sub tasks.

Hi @Naveen Sundar ,
it seems something related to the new UI. I tested and as indicated by @Carlos Garcia Navarro for me it happens to several fields, no only components
