I can't get my priority filter working. I switched from Trello because Jira seemed more flexible, but this is proving to be more pain than it's worth.
I'm trying to have all cards for all columns automatically sort by priority in ascending order whenever a card is added to a column (yes I know this prevents manually sorting cards, I don't care about that feature). In Trello, this was a simple single rule. But in Jira, I can't find any way to do this through automation tasks. As I understand it, using filters is how it's supposed to be done with Jira? But using this filter: project = "MyWorkspace" ORDER BY priority ASC literally does nothing when selected. And yes, this is with varying priorities assigned to test cards. What am I doing wrong?
Hi @Tempest051 - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Does that work I get is expected when you just use that filter and a search?
And you are positive that the board is using this filter?
Yes I have the filter applied in the board in the custom filters dropdown, nothing changes. I'm also still able to manually reorder cards.

So, this is a Company-managed project? And you go to the board and then click the 3 dots menu and select Configure Board. Can you share what you see in the General tab there?

Do you mean the Details tab? There is no General tab. It's not a company project. The board is for a private community project, though I don't see why that's relevant.
I also included an image of the filtering problem to demonstrate the issue.

Oh, this is a Team-managed project. I cannot get that to work either. You should open a support ticket with Atlassian. Please post back here with the resolution.

There are different versions of the kanban board for private and enterprise? Had no idea. Weird that this only affects one. I would just to back to Trello if I didn't need the card dependency feature so much. Guess I'll contact support then.

Great. Their support requires a premium subscription. Guess I'll go back to Trello after all.

No, there are different versions of the board for Team-managed projects vs. Company-managed projects. You should just switch over to a Company-managed project.
