I am the admin of our jira account. But i am unable to change inactive workflow to active. I want to assign the "Classic workflow" to our Project. Can somebody please help.
Workflows are not assigned to projects, they are assigned to workflow schemes. So create a new workflow scheme, and tell it to use your new workflow as the default (or assign different ones for different issue types), then configure the project, changing the workflow scheme to your new one.
Hi Nic, Thanks for your answer. So i have gone ahead and created a new workflow schema. I have also assigned issues types relevent for this workflow schema (bug).
Now how do i configure the project... so that my project starts using this new workflow schema. Just fyi - the workflow schema that i have chosen is the "classic" workflow already available.

Also just to add to this - In my workflow schema, i still see the classic workflow in my Inactive list.

As a Jira or system admin, configure the project, click on the workflow section, and change the workflow scheme to your new one.
The system will warn you about migrations and ask you questions if it needs to (mostly if your old workflow has status the new one does not, it will need to know what to change existing issues to)

Hi Nic,
Thanks for the reply. But i would like to know steps of how to do this:
"Once you have created a Workflow, assigned it to a Workflow Scheme, how do you assign the workflow scheme to a project?"
Please note: I have created a workflow & assigned it to a Workflow Schema

I can't tell you more than that, it really is the process to change the workflow scheme for a project.
