Hi @Melissa Black and welcome to the Community!

Can you provide a bit more details about:

  • the roadmap you are referring to? Is it the timeline view in a single project, the roadmap in a plan? a roadmap in Jira Product Discovery or even a marketplace app?
  • how you are doing the updates. Are you dragging start and end dates in the graphical timeline itself or rather updating dates in the issue details view next to the roadmap?
  • what actions you are taking to save the changes you made

Thank you for the welcome! I am glad to be part of the community! I am referring to the Jira Roadmap. It's the roadmap in  a plan.

I am going into the Project, selecting the  Target end date and changing it. I then go into the Jira changes and save there. I then refresh and then it reverts back to then original date.

It is probably me, @Melissa Black, but I still can't imagine what the exact steps are you are trying to do and where it goes wrong.

Just a couple of things:

  • you access the roadmap of a plan by clicking into the Plans menu. It is not in a project, it is a separate section in Jira where you usually would plan work across multiple projects. You can do changes there that are not automatically saved into Jira as you need to commit the changes first.
  • you have lost me when you say: "I am going into the project". That is a step I cannot link from starting in the roadmap of a plan. Unless a project would be a work item in your plan, representing a project?
  • when you say "I then go into the Jira changes and save there", do you mean committing your changes to the Jira issues from the button near the top right corner?

If those are indeed the steps you've taken, could it be that the target end date is a field that is not on the edit screens in Jira for the project issue type you are trying to update? If so, it could be that you are trying to update a field that is not available, thus producing an update error that causes the data to revert to the value that was there before?

Or some other thing that is blocking the update to the Jira issue itself to happen from the plans sync. Like permissions to edit issues there, e.g.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! I will review this comment and try to update.
