My company is using Jira as a management tool and confluence for the documentation. Burndown chart is not coming properly as it should.
1. People are logging the hours on a daily basis at the story level.
2. Estimates are defined in Story points.
3. When people logged some hours then this is not coming down because the story is not yet moved into Done status. This will move on the last day of the sprint because we are following Scrum.
4. Instead of coming down, it is moving upwards, because some stories are getting added in between the sprints, or scope changed which increase the estimates. that is fine for me.
Worry point is, it is not going down.
Just as an aside before I try to answer, I disagree with your point 3 - items should be moving into the Done column all the way through the sprint, not just on the last day.
You state that you estimate in story points, which is good, but are you also estimating in hours? When you go to the Burndown chart, which field is selected as per the screenshot below? If it is Story points, then what you're getting is correct, because "burning down" hours but showing story points doesn't work.
I can's see the Remaining Time Estimate option.
I can see the following options.
We are estimating in Story points only and one story point is 6 hours for the calculation. We are using fibrosis for estimates.
And My chart is displayed for Story Points.
