One of our Jira projects was created as a classic business project. When viewing the board as an admin user, I do not see the button with the 3 dots where I can update the Board Settings.

When you create a business project you get a basic default Kanban board that is not configurable. If you wish you can create a Kanban board setting the location to your profile and add a shortcut to the board in the sidebar. This will give you a fully configurable Kanban board.

Hello @Rudolf Arada , features differ between project types and templates and since you are using a Project Management (business) template this is an expected behavior. See Work with boards in business projects . Jira admin can move columns around - to add columns, you need to edit the workflow - How do I build the workflow I want?
Also, you can always Convert your project to a different template or type.
