How to unlock Epic Name field

Added Epic Name field and now it's "mandatory" and I can't unlock it.

Any help would be appreciated - thank you!

Do not do it.

Fields are locked by Applications, Apps and the core software for very good reasons - mostly that if you make config changes and things go wrong, there's no way back to a working system, and there's no support from Atlassian (unless they state you should do it for your particular case)

Seriously, do not unlock fields.
