How to turn on bug & sub-bugs for a project in QaSpace

Merkur Interactive Services September 6, 2018

Hi,

According to the documentation of QaSpace (see below) this is how you would be able to set up the bug configuration:

Bug configuration
Edit

Jira itself has only one type of issue designated to represent a failure from the beginning. However, your project may use a set of customs issues for this purpose (defects, sub-bugs, UI bugs etc.). In order to give you flexibility in adjusting our plugin to your workflow, you can consider any Jira issue as 'bug' in the configuration. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in as a user with the Administer projects project permission.
  2. Open the Cog menu at the top right of your JIRA window and click Projects
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page
  4. Find TEST MANAGEMENT left side menu bar
  5. Click the QaSpace Configuration button
  6. Find the Bug configuration section
  7. Click the Edit configuration
  8. Select issue(s) from a right column
  9. Press >>
  10. Press the Save

I am running Jira server v7.11.2 where this option does not show.
Some of my projects do have the ability to create bug & sub-bug and not all.

Could anyone tell me why or what I would need to adjust in order to make this function available?

Cheers,

Marcellino

Hi @Merkur Interactive Services,

did you check your Jira project's issue type scheme?

As long as your Jira project has not the bug issue types enabled in its issue type scheme, I'd bet you cannot choose them for your QaSpace configuration either.

Please check the documentary about issue type schemes.

Hope that helps!

Best wishes
