How to transfer ownership of a JIRA board without being an admin of the board?

I have a JIRA board which is owned by a former colleague who left the company in a hurry. The board was created personally using his company email and was not under the company organization. Hence, now after I have been onboarded onto the board, I am not being able to add / remove members from the board or perform any admin tasks. 

Could someone please help me transfer this board's ownership to my email address?

I suggest to try in one of the following:

• Locate the filter associated to the board and change the owner following this: https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/cannot-change-or-delete-filters-owned-by-deactivated-or-deleted-users-in-jira-cloud/ 
• If you are org admin, try impersonate the user: https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/log-in-as-another-user/
