Hi,

I would like to start transforming our organization into something that gets agile in several small steps. Therefore I started to take a look into Jira, Portfolio, Servicedesk an Confluence. Through the lack of experience I am facing newbie problems.

We are an service organziation with 90 people involving Marketing, Administration, Consulting and Development. Old silo structures with teams in each area. Consulting and development team is working together within the customer project but normally they are splitted. Currently we are using Easy Redmine but the UI is not clear and I am missing features.

Therefore I want to start with the atlassian portfolio.

Some questions:

- Are you working within an agile company that is using jira an each level? Something like the management is discussion a new strategy and splitting this up into some strategical tasks. How to implement these tasks into the teams projects?  How are you implementing initatives like growth or other targets that involve different teams?

- How are you tracking your strategical management topics within the projects that will take care of these topics on an operative level?

- When I think about a new product there are several seperated teams involved (marketing, development, ...). The first thought was to have one project with several boards but I realized that this just means that I have other views on the same project tasks/stories. Are you organizing your teams that are working on the same product into several projects or is it one project and you have one board with some parameters to show only the tasks for one team? -> How to you handle the structure in jira for projects that involve several teams? How do you organize the teams (e.g. marketing) line stories/tasks with the tasks from the projects?

Thanks a lot,

  Vanessa
