Hi,
In Jira Product Discovery, I'm using statuses to represent different phases of an idea. Each phase has a specific duration, and I want this duration to contribute to the overall idea's timeline.
Ideally, I would like to display these phases within the overall idea's timeline, broken down by phase durations.
I’ve attached two screenshots to clarify:
So far, I haven't been able to find a way to achieve this. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?
The timeline view in Jira Product Discovery only plots a single date range per idea, based on whichever date fields you select in the view configuration. It doesn’t currently support displaying multiple phase intervals for one idea. Each idea is treated as one timeline bar driven by a start and end date field, not by status changes or multiple date sets. To visualize individual phase durations, you’d need to model each phase as a separate idea or sub‑idea, each with its own date fields, and group them under the parent idea using the “Parent” and “Child ideas” relationship type. That way, each phase will appear as its own bar on the timeline, nested under the main idea.
