How to show Last Comment field contents on issue card face when hovering over field name?

I would like to show the Last Comment (would be a custom field) on the Card Face of my issue on a Kanban board when you hover over the Field Name. Is this doable?  I think prior to Enhanced Board options it sounded like it used to work this way for scrum boards.  The behavior appears different now, is this fallout from the new Enhanced Board features?

Currently, the field contents always display on card face.

Link that I followed: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/quot-Hovering-Over-quot-a-field-on-a-card-on-a-scrum-board-now/qaq-p/2478050

thank you!

Hi @Tania Schmittou ,

First you need to create a field called 'Last comment', then add this to the issue screen(s).

Next you need to add an automation rule, which copies the last comment in that field.

Lastly you need to configure you board and add the Last comment field to card layout.

If you do the above, you will see something similar to this:

Good luck

Hi @Rudy Holtkamp - I should have reworded my question slightly, I know how to do everything you stated already, it was the very last piece that was throwing me off (the card face and hovering action).  I have since retested (using Description field since I have not created a Last Comment field) and I thought there was a limit to how many CHARS show on the card face and all the Description shows on the hover feature.

I have mixed results in just how much shows on the card face and it really changes with double spacing and inserted pictures in the Field being shown (such as Description).

I have what I need to know, the hovering is working as expected.  Thank you!
