How to restrict custom field editing for a specific user on a specific status?

How to limit editing of certain fields on a certain status, for example, I have fields A B C, I want field "A" to be editable for user "1" on the "TESTING" status, and for other users  it is limited, then on the "Pending" status, field B is available for editing only for user "2".

Field-level permissions aren't a native feature - there are a few options though...

• If it's a field based on a permission (like Assignee or Reporter), you might be able to use a workflow property in a Company-managed Project
• You could have the fields only editable on a transition screen, then limit who can transition the issue (using a condition) to those specific users for each status change option
• You could use Automation to reverse changes based on the status
