How to restrict a transition of Story based on an Epic Status

I am currently using JIRA On Demand.

I have set up workflows so that when an Epic is placed on Hold it will place all Stories, Bug and Sub tasks On Hold. This is working fine.

Now I would like to restrict the user from transitioning a story or Bug out of On Hold when the Epic is still On Hold.

I have set up the Sub task to restrict this transition when the Story is On Hold using the Parent Status Validator from the Misc workflow add-on.

Is there a way of doing this for Epic - Story, Bug linked issues.

Any help would be appreciated.
